7am on a wet and miserable Thursday morning saw some 300 protesters leaving Norfolk on seven coaches (and a few by train) to participate in the May 10th rally in London.

300 off duty colleagues and some family and friends who were determined to highlight their anger and dismay at the way Government are systematically destroying the best police service in the world and treating dedicated and professional individuals with absolute contempt.

We are aware that there are many members around the county who cannot attend the march on 10th May for a variety of reasons, but they will be with us in spirit and wish to be able to demonstrate their support.

As part of the on-going campaign, and in order that those unable to be present can contribute, from Wednesday 9th May there will be a section on the home page of the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) website (www.polfed.org) where members and others who support the campaign against the 20% cut to the police budget and attack on police officers’ terms and conditions can demonstrate their support.

The majority of travel briefs have been circulated to those travelling by coach to London on the 10th May. However, the remainder will be sent out during the morning of Friday 4th May; we are awaiting confirmation of departure times from the coach company. We apologise for the delay.
